Repair mortar calculator

Work out the volume, weight and bags of concrete repair mortar from the repair area, its average depth and the mortar density.

Inputs

The values shown are an illustrative example, not product data; replace them with your project values and the approved TDS.

m²

The total area of the repair patches after breaking out.

mm

The average repair depth; measure it at several points.

kg/L

Fresh mortar density, or the consumption per mm from the TDS.

%

An allowance for cuts, overlaps, details and site losses.

kg

The net weight of one bag.

Total quantity504 kg

How it is calculated

  1. Volume (L) = area (m²) × thickness (mm)
  2. Quantity (kg) = volume × density × (1 + waste %)
  3. Bags = round up [ quantity ÷ bag size ]

QQuestions

Questions clients ask

How do I estimate a concrete repair mortar quantity?

Work out the break-out volume — area × average depth — then divide it by the bag yield (the volume of mortar one bag makes, from the data sheet), and add a waste allowance.
