The Prime Shield quality system
No layer is covered before it is inspected and recorded: hold points for approval, recorded tests and a quality file for every project.
A certified system
Quality management to ISO 9001:2015
The quality system sets how materials are approved, when we inspect, what we test and how we hand over. The certified scope covers thermal insulation, sound insulation and vibration isolation — installation, repair and maintenance.
ScopeGeneral contracting services for the installation, repair and maintenance of thermal insulation, sound insulation and vibration isolation systems for the residential, commercial and industrial sectors.

The quality path
Eight stations, from the material to the file
Every station ends with a recorded result, and the next one starts only after approval.

- MAT01
Material approval
Material data, manufacturer certificates and applicator approvals are submitted for approval before supply.
- MOCK02
Mock-up
Where the specification calls for one, or where the appearance is part of acceptance — microcement or clear coatings, for example.
- SURF03
Surface inspection
Joints, penetrations, falls and the substrate condition, with moisture readings where the system requires them.
- APP04
Application inspection
Every layer is inspected and recorded before the next: thickness, laps and the critical details.
- IR05
Inspection requests at hold points
At every hold point we request an inspection by the consultant or the owner’s representative; the next layer starts after approval.
- TEST06
Testing
Flood tests, and thickness, adhesion, density and membrane-continuity tests where they apply.
- HO07
Handover
A formal acceptance report once the results are approved.
- DOC08
Documentation
A project quality file: photos, inspection reports and test results for every stage.
Tests
The tests we document
| Code | Test | Where and when |
|---|---|---|
| Flood test | Flood test | Roofs, wet areas and tanks |
| DFT | Dry film thickness | Measured against the approved specification |
| Pull-off | Adhesion | For systems that require it |
| Density | PU foam density | Density and spray rate verified |
| Seam check | Membrane continuity | Laps and joints inspected and sealed |
| QA dossier | Project quality file | Photos, reports and tests for every stage |
Required values and test methods follow the approved project specification and the product’s TDS.

Documentation
The quality file is handed over with the project
The file collects what happened on site, in order: material approvals, inspection records and requests, test results, photos, and finally the acceptance report.
QQuestions
Questions clients ask
What is a flood test for waterproofing?
Once the waterproofing has cured, the drains are plugged and the area is flooded to a set level for the period the specification sets; the level is marked and the space below checked, then the test is recorded and signed before the waterproofing is covered.
What are inspection hold points?
Stages where work stops until the quality engineer or the consultant inspects and approves them: surface acceptance, primer, membrane and details, flood test and protection layer. No layer starts before the one below is approved.
What is a pull-off adhesion test?
A test that measures how strongly a coating or layer is bonded to the concrete by pulling off a glued dolly with a dedicated gauge, to ASTM D4541 or the project specification. It is used where the specification calls for it, or to assess a surface before re-waterproofing.
What is in the quality file at handover?
The material approvals and data, the inspection requests and signed checklists, test records such as flood tests, stage photos, and the warranty certificate.
