Epoxy flooring calculator

Work out the epoxy quantity in kilograms, litres and kits — from thickness and density, or from the TDS consumption.

Inputs

The values shown are an illustrative example, not product data; replace them with your project values and the approved TDS.

Input method
m²

The net area to be treated, without waste.

Coats with the same thickness or consumption.

mm

As the approved specification requires.

kg/L

The mixed density from the TDS.

%

An allowance for cuts, overlaps, details and site losses.

kg

The net weight of one kit (base + hardener).

Total quantity1,008.0 kg

How it is calculated

  1. Consumption per coat = thickness (mm) × density (kg/L) [1 mm over 1 m² = 1 L]
  2. Quantity = area × consumption per coat × coats × (1 + waste %)
  3. Volume = quantity ÷ density · kits = round up [ quantity ÷ kit size ]

QQuestions

Questions clients ask

How many kilograms of epoxy does a square metre need?

It depends on the system and thickness: each millimetre over one square metre is one litre of material, multiplied by its density from the data sheet to give kilograms, plus primer and waste. Roller-applied coats are worked out from the consumption per coat.
